The work of writers, musicians, filmmakers, performers, visual artists, dancers, art therapists
and journalists can have a deep impact on the collective consciousness.
How can we as artists contribute to a healthy and sustainable society? How can we integrate mindfulness in our professional work? How can we find positive ways of dealing with stress and competition in everyday life?
The Mindful Artists Network wants to be a platform
* for exploring these and other questions,
* for creating connections amongst people working in a variety of art forms, and
* for sharing experiences, inspirations and resources.
The network was founded in June 2012 in Plum Village by students of the Vietnamese
Zenmaster Thich Nhat Hanh: Susanne Olbrich (pianist & composer, Findhorn/Scotland) and Aleksandra Kumorek (writer & director, Berlin). Our mindfulness practice is rooted in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and Plum Village.
We invite professional artists from all Buddhist traditions to join this network. We will
organise Mindfulness Days and retreats with the theme of Arts & Mindfulness in Germany
and the UK. In order to become a member of the Mindful Artists Yahoo Group, join here.
